.Segmentii sunt niste piese metalice folosite la etanseizarea pistoanelor in cilindri. Acestia se cumpara la set, fiind necesar de cate 2 sau mai multi la fiecare piston. In timp, segmentii se uzeaza, de la frecarea de tip fier pe fier cu cilindrul, si este necesara operatiunea cunoscuta sub numele de segmentare. Adica trebuie scoase pistoanele si inlocuiti segmentii.
