.Chederul masinii este unul dintre cele mai importante elemente de izolatie. Este vorba de un profil cauciucat care se etanseaza pe diferite elemente de caroserie. Intalnim chederul la capota motorului, la toate usile, la capota portbagajului si la fetele de usi. Chederul impiedica aerul si ploaia sa intre in masina, daca este montat cum trebuie. Insa in timp, cauciucul isi pierde din proprietati si incepe sa scartaie sau sa devina rigid.
