Ilfov.Sistemul Start-Stop care opreste motorul pe perioada stationarilor scurte de la semafoare a fost introdus in vederea reducerii consumului de combustibil si a emisiilor de noxe si poate fi intalnit pe foarte multe modele de masini moderne. Functionarea sa are la baza informatiile primite de la senzorul de viteza a vehiculului, senzorul pedalelor de ambreiaj si de frana, senzorul de pozitie de la arborele cu came, senzorul de incarcare a bateriei si altele. In urma analizei datelor, dupa constatarea opririi masinii, sistemul opreste automat motorul si-l porneste la apasarea pedalei de ambreiaj/ acceleratie ori a apasarii butonului Start-Stop.
