Actuatorul poate fi vacuumatic sau electronic. Modelele noi au facut trecerea spre actuatorul electronic deoarece acesta are o precizie mai buna si da un plus de performanta turbo-compresorului. Sistemele pe vaccum cu capsula vacuumatica s-au dovedit a fi foarte fiabile in timp, insa nu au acuratetea celor electronice.
