. Piesele au următoarele caracteristici: second.Fulia sau pinionul pentru axul cu came este o piesa metalica de forma rotunda antrenata de o curea dintata ori un lant si are rolul sincronizarii rotatiei arborelui cotit cu cea a axului cu came. Acesta din urma determina miscarea supapelor in chiulasa in tandem cu miscarea pistoanelor astfel incat in interiorul motorului sa se realizeze cei patru timpi: admisie, compresie, explozie, evacuare. Majoritatea fuliilor sunt montate fix pe axul cu came, dar inginerii au proiectat si variante complexe care-si pot modifica pozitia pentru optimizarea timpilor de inchidere si deschidere a supapelor (VANOS de la BMW).
